If you belong to a union, check to see if you have union code that’ll give you access to this site. I used Working Advantage for Knott’s Scary Farm. It was better than my friend’s corporate discount fee, by about $10/ticket.

student discounts

Check for the Student Discounts section of any theme park website, like Universal Studios Hollywood. If you still have a college email address, the discount is yours. I used my College Student Discount for Universal Studios Hollywood. I ended up paying $109 for a 12-month annual pass, when regular it’s about $120 for a 1-day pass.

As long as someone you know has a university email, you can use ushtix.com/(acronym for university) and it should pull up. i.e. “lmu” for “Loyola Marymount University” (don’t forget, you will need an active university email address)

$55/year to be a Costco Member. Membership DOES include discounts on theme parks and other useful things like tires.

AAA has member discounts for places like Six Flags Magic Mountain. It is recommended that you have AAA if you live in California (or anywhere, really) so if you have  AAA, definitely check their member discount offerings.

Six Flags Magic Mountain usually has a flash sale around Labor Day weekend for a 2-year pass for $79.99 which includes free park parking (parking is $25/visit so this pays for itself after two visits)

 

Bring snacks and reusable water bottles into the park to both cut down on costs and not be subject to a bunch of unhealthy food options. Food and drink in any theme park is very overpriced and not always the healthiest option.

Depending on your situation, it may be useful to carpool with people and split the cost of parking or for certain theme parks, park nearby and walk, Uber of Lyft to the park.
